Boro & Sashiko — mended indigo cloth, printed on both sides.
Boro is the old Japanese craft of mending: layers of indigo cotton patched and re-patched across generations, held with pale sashiko running-stitch. It turns wear into beauty — the very heart of wabi-sabi, nothing wasted. We composed this boro in-house and printed it across the whole cover, front and back, so the cushion is fully reversible with no plain side.
Part of the Calm & Oak “Real Japandi” collection — original textile art composed in our Copenhagen studio, in the true Danish–Japanese spirit of restraint, natural materials and craft.

Cotton and linen-look textiles printed with fade-resistant inks; cushion covers have hidden zips. Machine wash cold, gentle; line dry or tumble low; warm iron if needed.

Every Calm & Oak artwork starts as ink on paper in a small studio north of Copenhagen. We keep the imperfections — the dry brush, the open circle — because that is the point.
