Is the art really original?
Yes. Every artwork in the shop — the sumi-e ink work, the botanical line drawings, the landscapes and the illustrated series — is drawn in our studio near Copenhagen. Nothing is licensed, stock or generated.
What is printed where?
We work with a small number of print partners with workshops in the EU, the UK, the United States and Canada. Your order is routed to the workshop nearest you.
Which paper do you use for prints?
Archival 200 gsm matte or fine-art paper with pigment inks rated for 100+ years. Prints ship flat in rigid mailers or rolled in archival tissue for larger sizes.
Do prints come framed?
Prints are unframed unless a framed option is shown on the product page. Our Print & Frame Guide (free when you join the Collectors’ List) covers standard frame sizes, mats and how to hang.
How do I care for the textiles?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, tumble low or line dry, warm iron if needed. Cushion covers have hidden zips; inserts are included where stated.
What about the digital prints?
Digital artworks arrive by email as high-resolution files in several ratios, ready to print at home or at a local print shop. Files are for personal use only.
Can I buy a whole look?
Yes — each look in The Looks lists every coordinating piece. Sets can be bought whole or mixed.
Where is Calm & Oak?
The studio is in North Zealand, Denmark, half an hour from Copenhagen. The journal at calmandoak.com is where we write about living with less.
